The Joseph Sullivan Options Industry Achievement Award was established in May 2002 to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the growth and integrity of the U.S. options market. The award is presented each year at the Options Industry Conference. Most recent recipients were Ed Joyce,[1] former President of CBOE (2012), Larry McMillan, author (2011), William Porter, co-founder and the first chairman of ISE and chairman emeritus of E*TRADE (2010), William J. Brodsky, chairman and CEO of CBOE (2009), and David Krell, chairman of the ISE (2008).

Joseph Sullivan was a former Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) executive who helped found the Chicago Board Options Exchange, which traded the first listed options contract. Sullivan was the CBOE's founding president from 1972 to 1979.[2]

In February of 2013, the Options Industry Council announced Meyer (Sandy) Frucher would receive the Joseph W. Sullivan Award at the annual OIC conference.
