Scott Riley is founder and director at Lambda Clearing Designs, a London-based consultancy specializing in clearing and settlement for the financial sector. He is a veteran executive in the banking and exchange space, and was one of the founding directors at Chi-X Europe, where he disigned and implemented the multilateral trading facility's post-trade model. He was also in charge of exploring initial clearing options for Chi-X Australia before its 2011 launch.[1]

Background

Riley is best known for developing Chi-X Europe’s post-trade market model, working with ABN Amro to establish the European Multilateral Clearing Facility, one of the first pan-European clearing houses. In May 2013 he was recruited by Morgan Stanley to lead a new international clearing initiative designed to complement its electronic trading platform.[2]

Before joining Chi-X, Riley spent five years at LCH.Clearnet as a director of sales and marketing. He also spent a year as head of clearing operations at the Australian Derivatives Exchange (ADX).

Earlier in his career he held operations roles at Merrill Lynch, ABN AMRO and Bank Austria Creditanstalt.

Education

Riley holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. He also studied business administration and commerce at Griffith University, also in Brisbane.
