Kevin Kennedy serves as the vice president and head of U.S. options at Nasdaq and head of Nasdaq Futures Exchange, the company's energy and freight market. He took the options job in 2007 and added the futures exchange post in November 2018.
He is responsible for Nasdaq's U.S. Options business, including setting the strategic direction for Nasdaq's six U.S. Options exchanges. With NFX, he will be responsible for managing and growing the exchange, launched in 2015.
He is a member of the board of directors of the OCC.
From 1997 to 2007, he was a governor on the board of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange prior to its acquisition by Nasdaq.
He began his career as an independent market maker in September 1987, and served as president of his own trading firm, and was a vice president in Goldman Sachs' equities division, where he managed the firm’s Philadelphia derivatives operation.
Kennedy graduated from La Salle University in 1987 with a bachelor of science in finance.
