David J. Wescott was a member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and was a member of the CME Group board of directors beginning in 2003.[1][2] He passed away unexpectedly on July 16, 2019.[3]

Background

Wescott was a member of CME for more than 25 years. In addition to his later board member stint, he also served as a member of the CME board from 1989 through 1996.

He was also a founder and partner in Nirvana Technology Solutions, a co-location and tech support hosting company for the trading community. Wescott also served as a past member of the CFTC Regulatory Coordination Advisory Committee under former Chairwoman Wendy Gramm.[4]

He was president of The Wescott Group Ltd., a CME clearing firm, starting in 1991. He was managing partner of the Dowd/Wescott Group from 2006 to 2007. Dowd/Wescott was acquired by MF Global in 2007. Wescott then served as a vice president of MF Global.
